Skyler Scott Stickels, 19, Staples, was charged Oct. 10 in Morrison County District Court with one felony count of third degree criminal sexual conduct, being more than 24 months older than the victim.
On July 18, a Motley police officer received a report that a 13-year-old female had a sexual encounter with an 18-year-old man.
The parent had confiscated the juvenile’s cell phone and had looked through the phone records and Facebook account. She allegedly found explicit text messages and photos.
When the victim was confronted, the parent found out that Stickels had allegedly been allowed into the home by the juvenile, 13, and that the two had intercourse on about July 16 or 17.
According to the criminal complaint, the daughter gave a taped statement to the police naming Stickels as the man in question.
If convicted, Stickels faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and/or a $30,000 fine.
