Football: Third-ranked Becker pulls away from Little Falls in defensive battle

Third-ranked Becker edged past visiting Little Falls 18-3 in a defensive struggle to close the regular season, Oct. 16.

The Flyers got on the scoreboard first via a 29-yard field goal by junior Thomas Bell, producing a 3-0 lead they would carry into the second quarter.

The Bulldogs answered with a 10-yard scoring run midway through the second quarter, then closed the night with touchdown runs in the third and fourth.

Junior Brighton Goodrich rushed 22 times for 76 yards to pace the Flyers offensively.

Junior Austin Fenske completed 6-of-18 passes for 67 yards, with senior Trysten Ross finishing with 28 receiving yards, senior Kyle Kabanuk collecting 23 and junior Bryce Zawatzke 16.

Becker closed an unbeaten Granite Ridge Conference season with the victory, with the Flyers finishing in third place in the conference.
