Joseph Schlichting

Joseph Jr. R. Schlichting Jr., 80- year-old resident of Little Falls, passed away Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at St. Gabriels Hospital in Little Falls.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls. Friends may call from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Thursday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls.
Joseph Jr. was born in the Royalton area March 19, 1933, to Joseph and Josephine (Szczodrowski) Schlichting. He was united in marriage to Nellie Smith, Aug. 29, 1981. Joseph enjoyed being outdoors, his hobbies included fishing, trapping, hunting, gardening, and watching the birds and deer in the yard. Joseph and Nellie enjoyed driving the back country roads together and he also liked playing cards. Joseph had a gentle and kind demeanor. He was a good cook and farmed for most of his life as well as spending time doing all sorts of odd jobs. Joseph will be sadly missed by all.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Nellie Schlichting; sisters, Alice (Jerome) Janish of St. Paul and Jean (Virgil) Rhode of Royalton; and a sister-in-law, Arlene Schlichting of Sartell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Josephine Schlichting; brother, Jerome Schlichting; sisters, Eleanor Mostad and Shirley Schlichting; and brotherin-law, George Mostad.
