Rash of thefts in Benton County under investigation

A rash of thefts from vehicles occurred in Watab Township during the overnight hours of Saturday through Monday, Oct. 26 – 28. The Benton County Sheriff’s Department is investigating 13 such thefts, all occurring between Oak Hill Golf Course and Little Rock Lake.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office reported that the suspects in these thefts targeted unlocked vehicles parked at residences. Suspects have taken money, electronics, purses and other personal property from the victims’ vehicles.

Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious persons or vehicles in this area during the overnight hours from Oct. 26 – 28, is asked to contact the Benton County Sheriff’s Office at (320) 968-7201 or the Tri-County Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 255-1301, or by texting TRITIP to 274635.

Law enforcement is also encouraging citizens to keep their vehicles locked and to remove all valuables from the inside of the vehicle each night.
