Roman Jerome Schichta, 84, a resident of Bowlus, passed away Oct. 24, 2013, at the Pierz Villa.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Elmdale, with Father John Odero officiating. Burial took place at the parish cemetery.
Roman was born Aug. 22, 1929, to John and Mary (Korneck) Schichta in Swanville Township. He served in the U.S. Army during the time of the Korean War. He lived his entire life on the family farm in Bowlus where he raised cattle and farmed. He sold the cattle and retired from farming in 1991. Roman was a member of the Bowlus Legion, a Life Member of the Little Falls VFW, the Knights of Columbus, and St. Edwards Catholic Church in Elmdale.
Roman is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Schichta; and his siblings Regina Czech, Joseph Schichta and Rose Gosiak.
