Hubert Ley

Hubert R. Ley, 53-year-old resident of Little Falls, passed away Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, in Little Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Nov. 1, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, with Father Jimmy Joseph officiating. Burial was at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls.
Hubert Raymond Ley was born Oct. 6, 1960, in Jacksonville, Fla., to the late, Harold, Sr. and Bernedette (Moritz) Ley. He attended Little Falls High School, graduating in June of 1979. Following graduation, Hubert joined the U.S. Navy, making his way around the world on the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln. He was honorably discharged in 1992, and moved back to Little Falls, in August of 1998. Hubert worked in the roofing industry and later in the logging industry, where he worked to this day. Huberts first love was his reverence for the church, God, and praying the Rosary (which he prayed daily). He did Adoration at Our Lady of Lourdes Church from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. every Thursday, and sometimes a couple of times a week and went to work afterwards. His second love was working in the garden and canning his produce. There will be a lot of unused garden space and many undug horseradish patches with his passing. Hubert was a great help to many people, including aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. Hubert spent many hours volunteering at the Morrison County Food Shelf and helping with the Little Falls Knights of Columbus as an officer.
He will be dearly missed by many people, including his sisters, Brenda Kuchenmeister of St. Cloud and Becky (Leon) Vetsch of Swanville; brothers, Tim (Lynn) Ley, Harold (Julene) Ley, and Jerry (Kaye) Ringwelski, all of Little Falls; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold, Sr. and Bernedette Ley; and step-father, Jerry Ringwelski, Sr.
Casketbearers were Sara Chamberlain, Loren Vetsch, Kevin Vetsch, Steven Ley, Paul Ley and Jody Ley.
