Four Holdingford swimmers earned all-conference honors at the West Central Conference (WCC) meet in Morris, Oct. 26, as the Huskers finished just six points shy of third-place Minnewaska Area.

“We had an amazing conference meet,” Holdingford head coach Dave Langerud said. “Every one of our girls dropped time and we had some outstanding efforts.”

Junior Gabby Langerud was the top performer for the Huskers, winning the 50-yard freestyle in 25.4 seconds, just shy of the state qualifying mark, while taking third in the 500 free.

Langerud also teamed up with senior Megan Auger and sophomores Meghan Mokhtary and Maddie Christensen to take second place in the 200 medley relay, an event the Huskers were seeded sixth in, with the same group earning honorable mention honors in the 400 free relay.

Auger dropped eight seconds from her time to take fourth in the 500 free and was fifth in the 200 individual medley.

Mokhtary earned third in the 100 breaststroke and the 200 free, and is only one second off of the state qualifying mark in the 100 breaststroke.

Also turning in big days for Holdingford were senior Jodi Middendorf, who knocked her personal bests from 6:27 to 6:12 in the 500 free and  from 2:27 to 2:19 in the 200 free, as well as sophomore Haley Auger, who went from 1:13 to 1:10 in the 100 fly.

Next up for Holdingford is the Section 6A meet in Alexandria, Thursday and Saturday, Nov. 9.
