The Friends of the Splash/Pad and Skate Park in Little Falls will meet Thursday, Nov. 7, at the Carnegie Library in Little Falls, at 5:30 p.m.
The group will discuss ways and means of raising revenue to fund the splash pad and skate park project in Little Falls. This friends group is a separate organization from the city’s Mayors Youth Task Force. It has been created to specifically raise funds through events and the seeking of donations for the project, which may cost in excess of $1 million.
Groundbreaking for the playground phase of the project (Phase I) is expected to take place Friday, at 3:30 p.m. at the site of the playground, with Paul and Emily Twitchell on hand. The Twitchells donated $100,000 for the project, in honor of their deceased child, Taylor Chebet Twitchell.
The first project the group has planned is a citywide garage sale, set for Saturday, May 17, 2014. The group will develop a citywide map that includes the addresses of all participants, with a sentence for sale items. The event will be advertised and maps dispersed throughout the county.
For more information about the group or the garage sale, contact Marsha Krebs at (320) 632-4872.
