Foley man charged with criminal sexual conduct

Joseph Henry Baumer, 33, Foley, was charged Nov. 4 in Morrison County District Court with four felony counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct.

In April 2013, Morrison County deputies learned that two 10-year-old females had been sexually assaulted by Baumer in Benton County. One of the victims told officers that they later moved to Morrison County and the assaults allegedly continued.

A statement from the second victim agreed with the statement from the first victim, and in the criminal complaint the victims said this occurred between five and 20 times.

The victim’s mother acknowledged that Baumer lived with the family and that he was the children’s  caretaker.

Baumer, who was in prison when a statement was taken, allegedly denied sexually assaulting the children, but did acknowledge he lived with the two in both Benton and Morrison counties and that he was their caretaker.

If convicted, Baumer face a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison and/or a $40,000 fine.
