Aaron Ray Mortenson, 20, Swanville, was charged Nov. 5 with one felony count of harassment, violating a restraining order within 10 years of the first of two domestic violence convictions.
On Jan. 17, 2012, a restraining order was issued from Morrison County District court ordering Mortenson from having any contact with an individual until Jan. 16, 2014.
On Sept. 16, the victim told the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office that Mortenson had violated the order by making contact with him.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim was at a Swanville gas station when Mortenson drove up and began yelling. When the victim went inside, Mortenson followed and continue to yell and when the victim drove away, Mortenson allegedly followed.
When the victim came to a stop, he said Mortenson got out of his vehicle and yelled for the him to also get out of his vehicle.
When the victim took a picture of Mortenson during the alleged harassment, he got into his vehicle and took off.
An examination of Mortenson’s criminal history showed he was convicted of both violating an order for protection in Morrison County in December 2011 and of assault in Todd County in January 2012. The current offense is deemed a felony due to the prior convictions.
