Hospice trees shine again in Little Falls

Hospice-tree-of-lightsThousands of lives have been celebrated through the years by the lights of the Hospice Trees now located on the front lawn of St. Gabriel’s Hospital. Friends and families have purchased lights and stars to remember or honor someone special in their lives.

Residents can celebrate by honoring or remembering a loved one through the Hospice Trees of Light by purchasing lights which will be commemorated in a keepsake pull-out ad in the Morrison County Record in early January. The listing of names will also be displayed at St. Gabriel’s Hospital throughout the year.

Please look for the clip-out ads in this newspaper from Thanksgiving to Christmas and send to Unity Family Hospice, 815 S.E. Second St., Little Falls. In addition, lights and stars can be purchased in person at St. Gabriel’s Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop on the first floor of the hospital. Also, a donation can be made on the GiveMN.org website by searching Unity Family Hospice. Let’s remember Give to The Max Day Thursday, in which donations are doubled and tripled.

Additional participating communities have trees located in Pierz, Swanville, Royalton (Pine Country Bank), Randall and Lincoln-Scandia Valley, as well as the Little Falls location at St. Gabriel’s Hospital.

All proceeds from the Trees of Light go to Unity Family Hospice, which provides specialized home care for those diagnosed with a terminal illness. Hospice care focuses on providing medical treatment for comfort only, rather than attempt to cure. For further information on the Trees of Light, contact the hospice office at (320) 631-5575 or Kathy Lange, St. Gabriel’s Healthcare Foundation director at (320) 631-5624.
