Harold Neuman, Jr.

Obit-NeumanHarold-formattedHarold F. Neuman, Jr. a resident of Long Prairie, passed away Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 15, at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Swanville, with the Rev. Kevin Zellers officiating. Burial was in St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery, Swanville.
Harold F. Neuman was born March 21, 1936, in Sioux Falls, S.D., the son of Harold F. and Ruth (Rise) Neuman. He grew up and attended school in the Sioux Falls area. As a young man, Harold played saxophone in a dance band, The Little Oscar Gang. He married Jeanette Rundle, Aug. 25, 1957, in Madison, S.D. The family lived in Madison for a time until moving to Sioux Falls. They lived in Amarillo, Texas, for a short time until moving to Bruce Township in 1960. They farmed in Bruce Township and during that time also attended a Vocational Technical School in Minneapolis and Irrigation School in Staples. For three years, he also ran Ernies Gas Station in Long Prairie. Harold also delivered Winnebago Motors in each of the Continental United States, Alaska, and Canada. He and Jeanette also did flea marketing for over 20 years. He was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Swanville. He enjoyed hunting, NASCAR racing, tinkering around the farm, going to flea markets and visiting with everyone.
Harold is survived by his wife, Jeanette; his children, Elizabeth Neuman of Big Lake, Jeanette Anderson of Long Prairie and Harold E. Ed (Jean) Neuman of Colorado Springs, Colo., three grandsons, John, Joseph and Jacob Anderson; and three sisters, Jeanette Marie Neuman of Forest City, Iowa, Ruth Ann (Lanny) Rogers of Sherman, Texas, and Barbara Joy (Vic) Wolbeck of Bemidji.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and son-in-law, Brian Anderson.
Casketbearers were Ed Neuman, John Anderson, Joseph Anderson, Jacob Anderson, Bobby Wolbeck and Randy Wolbeck.
