Carmen DeFoe

Carmen E. DeFoe, 81- year-old resident of the Swanville area passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at St. Cloud Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at St. Johns Catholic Church in Swanville, with Father Ronald Dockendorf officiating. Burial will be at St. Johns Parish Cemetery in Swanville. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at St. Johns Catholic Church in Swanville. Parish Prayers will be prayed at 7:00 p.m.
Carmen E. DeFoe was born Dec. 22, 1931, in Little Falls, to the late Harry and Ruby (Jahncke) Molde. She graduated from Swanville High School in 1949 and attended business school in Minneapolis. Carmen worked at McKesson & Robbins for seven years. She was united in marriage to Jim DeFoe, July 14, 1958, at St. John the Baptist Church in Swanville. Carmen enjoyed playing the organ, card games, Scrabble and going to the Casino.
Carmen is survived by her children, Tim (Mary) DeFoe of Eagan, Renee (Steve) Burnstein of Elkridge, Md., Sharon (Dennis) Venske of Randall, and Gayl (John) Tschida of Rice; grandchildren, Chris, Ashley, Aaron, Matthew, and Benjamin; and great-granddaughter, Madison.
Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ruby (Jahncke) Molde; husband, Jim; sister, Arline Cichon; and infant sister, Bernadine.
Pallbearers will be Chris DeFoe, Matthew Burnstein, Benjamin Burnstein, John Tschida, Steve Burnstein and Ross Bollin.
