Elizabeth Betty Pietrzykowski, 83-year-old resident of Little Falls, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at St. Ottos Care Center in Little Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, at St. Marys Catholic Church in Little Falls, with Father Nicholas Landsberger officiating. Burial will take place in St. Marys Parish Cemetery in Little Falls. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Marys Catholic Church in Little Falls.
Betty was born June 1, 1930, in Allendorf, Germany, to the late Friedrich and Rose (Zinke) Hubner. She attended school and grew up in Allendorf, Germany. On Aug. 21, 1947, she was united in marriage to Miezzyslaw Joe Pietrzykowski in Germany. The following year, Betty and Joe, moved to Little Falls. The Franciscan Sisters sponsored them to help get their start here in the United Stated. Betty worked at various places such as, Woolworths, Pamida and was a nurses aid at St. Francis Convent and St. Gabriels Hospital. She enjoyed her work and was a very hard worker all her life. Betty was a people person, she loved helping people and interacting with them. She also loved to knit, sew, and watch the many hummingbirds that came to visit her feeders at her home. Betty was an exceptional cook, who specialized in making a wonderful apple strudel and various types of jelly. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and The Healing Light Prayer Group in Little Falls.
Betty is survived by daughters, Ingrid (Bruce) Lestico of Grand Rapids and Ilona Gunther of Rice; grandchildren, Bryan Lestico, Scotty Lestico, Tina Gunther, Tanya Gunther and Timothy Gunther; great-grandchildren, Dylan Caitlyn, Maggie, Cierra, Haley, Isabelle, Aaron and Landen; and sister, Rose (Bernat) Bitz of Germany.
She was preceded in death by husband, Joe; parents; brother, Emil; and son-in-law, David Gunther.
