The seventh annual Christmas at the Mansions at Linden Hill in Little Falls is scheduled to open Friday and will run through Sunday, Dec. 8. The 2013 theme is “Walking in a Winter Wonderland,” and is sure to please both young and old.
New decorators have stepped up to add a different twist to both the Musser and Weyerhaeuser homes. The Weyerhaeuser home will have a more historical Christmas look while the Musser home will have more contemporary decorations.
Self-guided tours of both mansions will be available beginning at 1 p.m. for $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Children ages 12 – 17 are $5 and those 11 and younger are free. Tickets are available at Linden Hill.
The Friends of Linden Hill have added a raffle this year to the annual fundraiser. Both a quilt and an eight-room Victorian doll house will be given away to the lucky winners. Tickets are $1 and may be purchased at Linden Hill.
As a special treat during the fundraiser, surprises have been added to the third floor of the Musser home. In the basement, cookies and hot apple cider will be available.
On Saturdays, visitors may watch as the cookies are being baked, smelling the wonderful aroma as they are taken out of oven. Visitors are asked to bring their appetites.
The Musser home is always available for rental for weddings, reunions, girls’ weekends and more. Tours for groups of 10 or more people are by appointment only during the winter. Call (320) 616-5580 for more information.
