Royalton students, parents and other community members now have a place to purchase logowear that shows their school and community support — the Lion’s Den store in the high school.

“I was always being asked by people about how to get clothing,” said Activities Director (AD) Brent Lieser.

“I was AD for eight years, and people consistently had questions about Royalton gear,” said Principal Joel Swenson. “We’re excited about the store.”

Last year, Lieser called Mitch and Brenda Becker of Becker Screen Printing in Pierz two or three times, asking about the possibility of opening a store.

Lieser was dedicated to finding a way for logowear to be offered somewhere in Royalton. Local businesses he approached weren’t able to do it.

“It didn’t work out with the Beckers last year, but they came back and offered it to us this way,” Lieser said. “It’s all their inventory.”

The store is set up as a satellite location of Becker Screen Printing.

“After Brent called, we started brainstorming,” said Brenda Becker. “We’re committed to finding days and times that work for parents to come.”

A former storage room between the competition gym and the arts hallway was cleared out and cleaned to make way for the store.

Both embroidered and screen-printed items are available. In addition to a full range of adult unisex sizes, there are numerous infant, toddler, youth, junior and misses sizes and styles.

Special orders are accepted for large groups, teams or events.

Currently, cash or checks are accepted for payment in Royalton.

“This wouldn’t be possible without Mitch and Brenda,” Lieser said. “It’ll be a win-win situation.”

“It’s a group effort,” Becker said.

“Our goal is to see more maroon and gold in the stands,” said Lieser.”

The store is currently open every Wednesday that school is in session, from 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

It will be open Tuesday, Dec. 3 during the boys and girls basketball games and Tuesday, Dec. 10 during the boys basketball game and the wrestling meet.
