Pierz Turkey Trot benefits special needs athletes

Turkey-trot-graphicThe second annual “Turkey Trot” will be held Thursday morning, before Thanksgiving dinner has begun. The motto for the fundraiser that will benefit special needs athletes in Pierz is “Run now … gobble later.”

Participants will receive a T-shirt and for $20 can register from 7:15 a.m. – 8:15 a.m. at Pierz Healy High School near the Memorial Athletic Center (MAC). The 5K run starts at 8:30 a.m., with the kiddie run ($3) starting at 8:15 a.m. Medals are awarded to the first – third place winners in each age group in the 5K run.

Child care will be available for a nominal fee. Thanksgiving projects, music and games will be offered for children as well.
