Little Falls is looking to add a dash of dash this season.

Or maybe a couple.

The Flyers will aim to push the pace as much as possible this season, looking to take advantage of their roster’s quickness, led by returning starters in junior Kendra Pohlman and sophomore Melanie Dorn.

“Our strength this season will be our quickness,” Little Falls head coach Trent Grams said. “We hope to have an up-tempo style on both offense and defense. If we can rebound the basketball on defense, we should be able to dictate the fast-paced style of basketball we want to play.

“Our biggest expectation this year is to get better as the season gets longer,” he said.

Grams expects the Granite Ridge Conference to be very competitive this season, with Albany and Foley the early teams to beat, with Fergus Falls, Alexandria and Thief River Falls the favorites in Section 8AAA.

Graduating from last year’s roster were Chantelle Anderson, Jamie Jenks and Katie Stewart.

New players expected to contribute this season are seniors Laura Moe, Brooke Finch and Brianna Anderson, juniors Heidi Moe, Kristin Stewart, Marissa Virnig and Katelynn Kanieski and sophomores Laura Fregin, Jordan Schuett and Sarah Gold.

Little Falls opens the season at Pierz, Tuesday, with its first home game against Milaca, Thursday.
