Upsala Area School (UAS) has chosen Josiah Lojovich as the November Senior High Student of the Month. He is the son of Steve and Lisa Lojovich of rural Upsala and is the youngest of five children. His older siblings are Jason, Rachel, Ruthann and Raina.
Lojovich is involved in the fall play, spring musical, Knowledge Bowl, choir and band. While these activities keep him active, he still makes time to work at Red’s Irish Pub in Swanville, participate in youth activities at his church and works hard to be on the A Honor Roll. One activity that he gains much experience from is directing movies at church. He has also volunteered at the library and as a sound technician for various activities.
One of his favorite classes is choir. Lojovich said he enjoys singing and ending his day with his friends.
“I have had the pleasure of having Josiah in choir for three years. It has been fantastic watching him mature from that timid young gentleman, whose voice had just changed, to the confident leader he is today,” said Choir Director Denise Cheney.
Through the many lead roles Lojovich has had in the drama productions at UAS, he enjoys making people laugh.
“It’s been a joy to work with Josiah throughout his high school years in the drama club. He has so much talent and seems to be able to strike the perfect balance of having fun and taking the production seriously,” said Drama Director Dan Cheney.
In the future, Lojovich said, “I would like to move to California, direct movies, win an Oscar and live in a house.”
