The Minnesota Flying Aces junior hockey team’s top line produced a stellar weekend, amassing 10 goals to lead to a weekend sweep of visiting Chicago.
The Aces won both games in shootouts, prevailing 5-4, Nov. 29 and 8-7, Nov. 30.
In the opening game of the series, Anthony Martinez scored twice, with Eric Cruickshank and Jake Mullendore also scoring.
Bradee Thompson netted the clinching goal in the shootout.
In the finale, Mullendore recorded a hat trick, Martinez scored twice again and Cruickshank and A.J. Gullickson also scored.
Mullendore, Martinez and Cruickshank all had three assists as well.
Mike Stumpf picked up the win in net in both games, making a combined 92 saves while also stopping eight of nine shootout attempts.
