Little Falls cut a double-digit second-half deficit to one possession, but couldn’t sink the tying basket as it dropped its Granite Ridge Conference opener to visiting Milaca 61-50, Thursday.

Junior Kendra Pohlman and sophomore Jordan Schuett each scored 10 points to lead Little Falls, followed by sophomore Melanie Dorn with nine and senior Brooke Finch and sophomore Sarah Gold with eight apiece.

Pohlman also pulled down a team-high eight rebounds and Dorn grabbed five steals.
