Sparked by a punishing defensive attack that resulted in 27 steals, Upsala pulled away from visiting Swanville for a 76-30 win, Tuesday.
Junior Brooke Westrich led the Cardinals defensively with seven steals to go with seven points, while seniors Kaelin Smieja and Katie Ripplinger each had five steals.
Smieja also was the top scorer for Upsala with 19 points, while junior Sara Herzog and freshman Katlin Welinski each registered a dozen.
Junior Mariah Prokott added eight points and junior Kristin Wuebkers chipped in five.
Swanville was led by junior Steph Koetter, who nearly reached a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.
Junior Danica Hanson added six points and five rebounds and senior Nikki Primus contributed five points for the Bulldogs.
