Judge decides not to hear oral arguments in Hensel vs. city of Little Falls lawsuit

A hearing for cross-motions for summary judgment in Robin Hensel’s free speech lawsuit against the city of Little Falls has been cancelled.

The oral arguments were first scheduled for Dec. 10 in Federal Court in Duluth. The hearing was then rescheduled to Dec. 17 at the Federal Courthouse in St. Paul.

Both parties were notified Thursday, Dec. 12, that Judge Richard Kyle, after having considered the matter and the parties’ motion papers, decided not to hear oral argument on the motions and the Dec. 17 hearing was cancelled.

Paul Reuvers, the attorney representing the city, said this may mean a decision will be reached fairly soon.
