Brainerd couple sought for receiving stolen property

Richard Donald Allen, 46, and Dondi Jonelle Allen, 37, both listed as living in Brainerd, were each charged Dec. 12 in Morrison County District Court with one felony count of receiving stolen property.

Officers from both the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office and the Little Falls Police Department, in an attempt to locate Richard Allen, went to his known home in Little Falls Nov. 1. There they discovered a parked vehicle with the rear hatch and two doors open. The screen door to the home was propped open and the interior door was also open.

When no one responded to the officers’ calls, they entered the residence, concerned with occupants’ safety.

While inside, a deputy saw an Acer laptop, valued at $575, which was consistent with a laptop recently stolen from Pierz. In the vehicle, a Toshiba laptop, valued at $475, was seen with a serial number matching one stolen from St. Cloud.

With a search warrant, both laptops were seized, along with a Dell Inspiron laptop found in the kitchen. It was later learned the Dell, valued at $800, had been stolen during a home burglary in Texas.

Warrants were issued for the arrest of both Richard and Dondi Allen due to their alleged involvement in a number of thefts throughout Minnesota.

If convicted, both Richard and Dondi Allen face a maximum penalty of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
