Boys Hockey: Miller’s return helps key Little Falls rout

In his second game back after missing more than a month due to injury, sophomore Thomas Miller netted a pair of goals to ignite a 5-2 Little Falls win at Wadena-Deer Creek, Tuesday.

Wadena-Deer Creek struck for the first two goals of the game, before Miller tallied his first goal on the power play with only two seconds remaining in the opening period.

Senior Jack Schulte tied the game less than two minutes into the second period, with Miller, sophomore Mack Anez and junior Austin Fenske also scoring to close out a contest in which Little Falls held a 44-12 advantage in shots on goal.

Senior Mark Anez and Schulte each posted three assists and Miller added two.

Junior Ezra Spandl made 10 saves to earn the win in net.

Early goal not enough against Prairie Centre

Little Falls scored first on a goal from sophomore Landon Bjorge, but five consecutive goals from visiting Prairie Centre led to a 5-2 defeat, Jan. 9.

Miller picked up the Flyers’ other goal late in the third period in his first game back from injury.

Senior Cody Steward tallied a hat trick for Prairie Centre.
