A pair of second-period power-play goals proved to be the difference in a rematch of last year’s Section 6A finals, as visiting St. Cloud Apollo edged Little Falls 2-0, Thursday.
Both teams had limited scoring opportunities, as Apollo outshot the Flyers 20-9.
The Eagles cashed in near the end of the power play for each of their goals, scoring with just one second left on their first opportunity and 24 second remaining on their third and final chance.
The game grew chippy near the end, with Apollo accruing 17 minutes of penalty time in the final 16 seconds, but not allowing the Flyers enough time to potentially even up the contest.
