Girls Basketball: Sauk Rapids-Rice holds off Little Falls down stretch

Little Falls couldn’t quite match the feat the following night against visiting Sauk Rapids-Rice, Jan. 18, narrowly falling 40-36.

The Flyers fell in an 8-0 hole at the start, but rallied to go ahead 23-20 at halftime.

After the Storm took the lead, Little Falls pulled back within two points with 6:28 to play, but another 8-0 run proved too much to overcome down the stretch.

Sophomore Melanie Dorn scored 16 points to pace the Flyers’ offense, followed by sophomore Jordan Schuett with seven, senior Laura Moe with five and sophomore Laura Fregin with four.
