Gymnastics: Little Falls posts season-high team score at Brainerd

Going up against another ranked opponent, Little Falls posted its best team score of the season in a 143.35-128.15 defeat at Class AA’s seventh-ranked Brainerd, Tuesday.

Senior Rachelle LeBlanc led the way with her fourth all-around score of 37 or higher this season, finishing a narrow second with a total of 37.25.

LeBlanc took the top spot on beam (9.5), floor (9.45) and bars (9.15), with the difference being an edge of 9.8 to 9.15 by Brainerd senior Elizabeth Etterman on vault.

The remainder of the Flyers on vault all scored above 8.0, including junior Hailey Claseman (8.55), senior Stephanie Cluever (8.55), sophomore Sarah Stout (8.45) and junior Suzy Smith (8.25), with Cluever’s score a career-best.

Stout reached a career-best total of 31.85 to place fifth in the all-around, with other top individual finishes including sixth place on floor (8.35) and bars (7.1) and seventh on beam (7.95).

Cluever also took seventh on bars (6.75) and eighth on floor (8.05), while Smith was eighth on beam (7.85).
