The spring semester of JUMP preschool reading program started Jan. 31. It will be held Fridays, from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. at Upsala Schools. Children who are at least 3 1/2-years-old by Jan. 1, and who are not yet in school or already enrolled in another preschool class, may enroll. Students must be potty-trained. The fee is based on a family’s gross income for this class.
Openings remain for Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) parent-child classes. Classes for a parent and child age birth – 5 years, are held Tuesdays, from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Parents with a child from ages 3-5, can attend Mondays, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Call Jenelle Peters at (320) 616-6240, or e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org to register or for more information.
Elementary German for grades 3-6 starts Monday. Students will learn beginning German vocabulary and phrases, while enjoying fun games and activities. There are a total of seven after-school sessions held Mondays and Wednesdays. Students will be able to stay after in the high school media center at Study Club until 5 p.m., with written parent permission.
Upsala Area School halls will be open for walking before and after school on days when school is in session. Registration is required to get a badge, calendar and map.
