Granite Ridge Girls Basketball: Milaca withstands Little Falls’ fast start

Little Falls started out fast, but Milaca finished strong to top the visiting Flyers 43-36, Feb. 7.

The Flyers opened the game on a 13-4 run, but the Wolves eventually worked the game even at 21-21 at halftime.

Sophomore Melanie Dorn scored 10 points and sophomores Laura Fregin and Sarah Gold each had nine for Little Falls.

Junior Kristin Stewart added three points and 10 rebounds.

The Flyers also fell 77-38 at Pelican Rapids, Feb. 8 and 59-30 to visiting Detroit Lakes, Tuesday.

Fregin scored eight points and Gold had seven against Pelican Rapids, with senior Laura Moe and Stewart each scoring five and juniors Katelynn Kanieski and Heidi Moe each scoring four.

Fregin led the way again against Detroit Lakes with nine points, with Stewart adding six.

Sophomore Jordan Schuett chipped in three points, eight rebounds and four assists.
