An old camper, more than likely used as a hunting shack in the Enchanted Lakes area, burned to the ground Feb. 14. It was located at 6509 Lake Camille Drive.
“It has been deemed suspicious, a possible arson case,” said Randall Fire Chief John Kreuser. “The case has been sent to the Minnesota Fire Marshall.”
Kreuser said the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office is trying to contact the owners, who do not live in the area.
“There is no electrical or heat to the trailer. The driveway had not been plowed and there were just footprints to the unit,” said Kreuser.
When about a dozen firefighters from the Randall Fire Department arrived at the scene, the trailer was already burned to the ground. A witness said it had been burning all day.
“Just the frame and part of the roof was left. The frame was bent and warped from the heat. There was some tree damage,” said Kreuser.
No other homes were in danger of catching fire.
