Robert Milner Osborne, 42, Motley, was charged Feb. 18 in Morrison County District Court with one felony count each of third degree assault and domestic assault by strangulation.
A domestic assault was reported Feb. 15 in Motley. The victim said she was assaulted by Osborne, with whom she had a domestic relationship.
When officers arrived, the victim was found bleeding from an injury to her forehead. A witness said Osborne allegedly had grabbed the victim by the neck and choked her. The witness screamed for him to stop, he did and when the victim stood up, he threw her to the floor, causing her to hit her head.
The victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance and there she told officers Osborne had choked her, then hit her head on the floor. She said she was in fear for her life and the lives of the children in the home.
If convicted, Osborne faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
