Central Minnesota Boys Basketball: Top-ranked BBE continues streak of conference dominance versus Pierz

Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (BBE) clinched yet another Central Minnesota Conference (CMC) championship with a 98-55 win over visiting Pierz, Tuesday.

The win marked the 68th conference win in a row for the Jaguars, dating back to 2009.

Junior Robbie Skiba scored 12 points, sophomore Noah Boser had 11 and sophomores Nick Herold and Jonny Kasper each added seven for Pierz.


Weber posts double-double

Sophomore Aaron Weber had an 11-point, 14-rebound double-double in a 62-48 defeat at Maple Lake, Feb. 14.

Boser followed with nine points, Kasper had seven and junior Ethan Lochner and Skiba each had six.


Holdingford drops three

Holdingford dropped its final three regular season games, falling 73-61 at Staples Motley, Feb. 13, 62-43 at Kimball Area, Feb. 14 and 71-54 to visiting Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, Tuesday.


Section 6AA schedule

Pierz earned the fifth seed in Sub-Section 6AA North and will open the playoffs at fourth-seeded Staples Motley, Thursday.

With a win, Pierz would play the winner between No. 1 Sauk Centre and No. 8 Osakis at St. John’s University, Saturday, March 1.

Holdingford is the seventh seed and will play at No. 2 Melrose Area, Thursday.

With a win, the Huskers would play against the winner of No. 3 Long Prairie-Grey Eagle and No. 6 Pillager at St. John’s University, Saturday, March 1.
