Representatives from Greater Minnesota Gas Inc. MIT met with Swanville residents Feb. 11, prior to the City Council’s regular monthly meeting.
The company will begin hooking natural gas lines to the homes of residents who have requested the service when the frost is out. The plan is to be done with all hookups by the end of June.
A hookup will cost $75 if it is less than 200-feet from the curb. If the distance is further, adjustments to the fee may be made.
Residents are asked to request the hookups as soon as possible, so the project can remain on schedule.
As much as possible, the lines will be brought to the homes through the alleys.
Each property owner will have a visit from a representative of the company before work is started.
At the present time the company is also visiting with residents in Upsala and Holdingford to determine interest in expanding to those communities.
