Don Meyer of Pierz announced he will not seek re-election to the Morrison County Board of Commissioners. Meyer has represented District 4 for 24 years.
“It was nearly 24 years ago that I initially ran for the County Board,” said Meyer. “I had a number of issues that I wanted to work on. I always believe that the services the county provides can be improved upon with support from the Board.”
Infrastructure is the backbone of a strong county, Meyer said. “I have worked to make good improvements in these areas over my career,” he said.
Building strong relationships between local, state and federal officials helps in making improvements across the county, something Meyer said he has always tried to accomplish.
“Over these years, I have had the opportunity to work with some of the best employees, residents and officials there are in this business,” he said. “For this I am very thankful.”
Meyer said he is at a stage in his life where his focus needs to be on his wife, his children and grandchildren. “Therefore, I must say farewell to being a commissioner,” he said.
“I want to thank the residents of District 4 for all the yearsof support and encouragement as I worked to represent each and all of you,” said Meyer.
