It was just mid-December when Pierz hired Scott Saehr as its deputy clerk, to begin Jan. 2.
Less than two months later, Saehr agreed to take over for City Administrator Anna Gruber, who moved on to another position.
The City Council approved hiring Saehr, settling on a salary of $49,000 per year with full benefits, as negotiated.
Saehr is looking forward to learning much in the coming months and to getting to know the people of Pierz. “I’m excited about that and that’s important to me,” he said.
He and his wife, Emily, live near Harding and want to stay in the community. “We want to raise our family in this community,” he said.
The Saehrs, who own Scottie’s Log and Landscape, will continue to run that business with the help of several employees.
Interviews for the deputy clerk position are expected to begin next week.
