Pierz Fire Department saves burning farm structure

The Pierz Fire Department responded Tuesday, March 4, to a report of barn fire located at 213 Street in Pulaski Township.

Fifteen firefighters were on the scene  for approximatley three hours.

Fifty head of cattle had been removed from the structure prior to the arrival to the fire department.

Fire Chief Brian Boser said the fire was in the hay and straw storage area of the barn and while the hay and straw was destroyed, firefighters were able to save the structure.

The cause of the fire is under investigation
