Great River Arts (GRA) will present its spring dinner theater production of “Crimes of the Heart,” by Beth Henley Friday and Saturday, April 4 – 5, and Thursday – Saturday, April 10, 11 and 12.
Dinner theater is an opportunity for community members to exhibit their talents and passion for acting, directing and building sets. Great River Arts offers what it considers an affordable, intimate and delicious dinner theater experience in the new performing arts space.
“Crimes of the Heart” is a dark comedy that tells the story of the three MaGrath sisters, reuniting at their home in Mississippi after the youngest, Babe, shoots her husband in the stomach. The play won the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best American Play. Dinner will be catered by A.T. the Black & White and Zylka’s Red Bull Bar is offering specials for ticket holders the day of the performance.
Doors open at 5 p.m., with dinner being served at 6 p.m. before the show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets will not be sold at the door, but can be purchased for at Great River Arts or online at www.greatart.org. This year the show will take place at Great River Arts in the newly renovated performing arts space.
