MC HRA wins soup and theme contests at Kinship’s Soup and Chili Cook-off

Chili-Cook-offMCR-HRALorelee Beto’s chicken dumpling soup took first place and her chili took third at the annual Kinship Soup and Chili Cook-off Tuesday. Beto and her crew, representing the Morrison County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA), also took first in the theme competition with their “Fiesta” theme. Judges chose “Candace’s Chili” as the first place chili winner and the People’s Choice was won by Zylka’s Red Bull Chili. Cabin Fever won People’s Choice in the soup category with their Smoked Gouda Bacon Soup. Aaron Olson, executive director of Kinship, said the cook-off has been an annual event for 15 years, and he’s been a part of it for 14 years. “Wow, big crowd last night,” he said. “The crowd was great, the food was great and we had many, many volunteers to make it happen.”
