Kathleen “Katie” LeMieur

Obit-LeMieur-Kate-formattedKathleen “Katie” LeMieur, 55-year-old resident of Little Falls,passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014, at her home in Little Falls surrounded by her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, March 31, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie with Father Tim Wenzel officiating. Burial took place in the Holy Family Parish Cemetery.
Kathleen was born Dec. 15, 1958, in Little Falls to the late Claire and Dorothy (Renaux) Robinson. She grew up in Randall where she attended grade school at Dr. S.G. Knight and later graduated from Little Falls High School in 1978. Upon graduation, Katie attended beauty school in Brainerd where she earned her cosmetology certificate. Katie was united in marriage to Steve LeMieur on May 5th, 1979 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Belle Prairie. She was a beautician for many years working at Hair Design Unlimited and later opened her own salon in her home so she could be with her two children. In 2004, Katie was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, to which she decided to quit doing hair. While fighting cancer, she became very involved with her own personal health care. Through her efforts, she overcame both the ovarian cancer and later breast cancer in 2006. Katie became a Certified Natural Health Professional, were she helped others form a healthier lifestyle. Katie was very passionate about healthy living and was a dedicated Young Living Essential Oils distributor. In her free time she enjoyed world travels, gardening, trap shooting, spending time on the Mississippi River pontooning, collecting Red Wing pottery and antiquing. Katie also enjoyed music, whether it was listening to it or playing the guitar. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and dedicated sister. Her faith was also a very important part of her life, dedicating time to prayer and being a devout Christian. Katie is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by many.
Katie is survived and loved by husband of 34 years Steve LeMieur of Little Falls; sons, Cody LeMieur and fiance; Samantha Daniel of St. Paul and Tony LeMieur of Fargo, N.D.; siblings, Denny (Ida) Robinson of Randall, Gerry (Colleen) Robinson of LeCenter, Pat (Jim) Ring of Little Falls, Pam (Stu) McKee of Cleveland, Jimmy (Shelly) Robinson of Cushing, Jay (Julie) Robinson of Little Falls, Krista (Brian) Peterschick of Randall, Cynda (Jesse) Turner of Randall and Nancy (Bob) Petrich of Cleveland; mother-in-law, Beverly LeMieur of Little Falls.
Katie was preceded in death by parents, Claire and Dorothy Robinson; sisters, Carol Honetschlager and Verleen Hallock; godchild, Christopher Vetter, niece Rebecca Turner; and father-in-law, Kenneth LeMieur.
