Track and Field: Holdingford wins two events at University of Minnesota Classic

Holdingford entered athletes in six events at the University of Minnesota High School Classic, March 29, winning a pair.

Junior Haily Koopmeiners claimed first place in the high jump, clearing a height of 4-feet, 8-inches, while the 4×400-meter relay team of freshman Jo Merten and sophomores McKenzie Schulte, Lizzy Solarz and Rachael Preusser took first in 4:27.2.

The same relay group took second place in the sprint medley in 4:46.89 and Koopmeiners took fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 31-feet, 0.25-inches.

In the boys competition, junior Andrew Zachman shattered his personal record by 18 seconds in the 3,200, placing third in 10:00.99, while junior Abe Skwira was fifth in the 1,600 in 4:47.6.
