Seventh-grader Hailee Schmidt has been chosen as the Swanville Schools March Student of the Month for grades 7-9. She is the daughter of Darrin and Heidi Schmidt.
Schmidt has started her high school career off by participating in volleyball, basketball and softball already this year. She also is participating in the theatre production this spring and was in the fall performance.
“Hailee is very respectful toward everyone around her. She always has a smile and a kind word to share. Hailee is a very enjoyable student to have in class,” said math teacher Liza Hasse. “Hailee is a very responsible student. She works very hard to be sure each assignment is turned in on time and completed to the best of her ability. Hailee will take the time to learn from her mistakes to help develop her understanding further. I look forward to working with her more in the future.”
Outside of school, Schmidt is active in church activities and participates in Just for Kix, an activity she has enjoyed since she was 3 years old. Schmidt also enjoys shopping, swimming, four-wheeling and being with her family.
“Hailee is extremely deserving of this recognition. She is a very mature young lady who has become a leader by setting positive examples for her classmates to follow,” said Tom Bzdok, social studies teacher. “She always has a smile on her face and puts everyone around her in a joyful mood. She has a positive attitude, an eagerness to learn and works hard to achieve her goals. Hailee is the type of student who will not be satisfied unless she has put her best effort into her work.”
Schmidt plans to one day attend college and wants other students to know to “work hard and set goals for yourself.”
