Eric A. Oldakowski

Obit-Oldakowski-formattedEric A. Oldakowski, 24-year-old resident of Little Falls, passed away April 5, 2014, at his residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie, with Father Joe Herzing officiating. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Burial will be at a later date.
Eric was born Oct. 9, 1989, in Little Falls, to Vernon Oldakowski and Lori Maciej. In 1991, Bradley Waytashek came into Erics life as a stepdad. He grew up in little Falls and graduated from Pierz Healy High School. Eric then went to an apartment to further his education and life skills. During this time he worked at many jobs and with the help of the Lutheran Social Services by his side. Eric then went on to work with REM, where he again learned many life skills. He presently was working at EEI in Little Falls. Eric had many interests in his life, from movies, reading books, dragons, dinosaurs, picking agates, skipping rocks by the river, spending time with the little kids; especially his two nephews, Jacob and Cody.
Eric is survived by his mother, Lori (Bradley) Waytashek of Little Falls; father, Vernon Oldakowski of St. Cloud; brothers, Dustin (Allison) Oldakowski of Pierz, Ryan (Casey) Oldakowski of Pierz, and Andrew Waytashek of Little Falls; sisters, Tina Oldakowski of Little Falls, Rachel Waytashek of Little Falls; and many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.
Eric was preceded in death by older brother, Vern Oldakowski Jr. and grandparents. Pallbearers will be Lenny Maciej, Kelly Maciej, Mike Waytashek, Dean Ganz, Chris Mayer and Wade Perry.
