Rhiana Mayer has been named the Upsala Junior High Student of the Month for February. The eighth-grader is the daughter of Christina Nienaber.
Meyer participates in volleyball and has excelled in academics. She has been student of the month in the past and consistently sits on the B honor roll.
Visual art teacher, Kara Poissant said, “Rhiana has shown such an intense desire to learn and create artwork. She is always excited to start new projects and puts her whole heart into her work. She is consistent and is not afraid to try new things in her artwork. Rhiana has proven her creativity and passion for the arts, time and time again.”
Meyer’s favorite class is art because, she said, “It is super fun and I love art. We do a lot of creative things and it is fun.”
Outside of school, Meyer has a knack for babysitting. She also enjoys drawing, coloring, photography, playing volleyball and hanging out with her friends.
In the future, she would like to go to college and pursue a degree in photography. Then she would love to travel the world taking photographs.
