On April 23, Morrison County issued a warrant for the arrest of Brandon Clarence Bedford, 26, Cokato, for failing to appear for a presentencing investigation. If and when he is arrested, he is to be held without bail in the Morrison County Jail.
Court records say Bedford poses an active danger to himself and others if he uses narcotics.
On April 17, the courts sent a notice of a hearing which was scheduled for April 28. Not only did Bedford not attend the presentencing investigation, he did not appear for the hearing.
Bedford is scheduled to be sentenced for the third degree sale of a controlled substance Wednesday, May 14, at 9 a.m. He faces a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison and/or a $250,000 fine.
On March 27, Bedford was tried and found not guilty by a jury for the murder of Miranda Gosiak Feb. 28, 2012. While he did give Gosiak heroin the day she died, the prosecution could not prove the fatal dose came from Bedford or from another person.
