Three structures in Morrison County have burned beyond repair in two separate incidents. Arson is suspected in both.
The Randall Fire Department, with assistance from the Flensburg Fire Department, responded to the first incident May 1. The house, located at 22757 18th Ave. in Parker Township, was unoccupied.
When the two fire departments arrived, the entire roof was gone and if it hadn’t been for the stucco exterior, the entire house would have been engulfed in flames. The firefighters sustained no injuries.
The house, unoccupied for several years, is situated on a dirt, 1.5-mile-long road with little traffic. Tire tracks were found leading to the house, but it is unknown if they came from the alleged perpetrators or from the person who called 911. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
The second incident occurred early Saturday morning, May 3. About 16 firefighters from the Scandia Valley Fire Department responded.
The fire, at 2278 White Pine Lane in the Lincoln Lakes Area on the south side of Crookneck Lake, totaled two camper trailers. The campers, on two separate areas of the lot, were unoccupied and were situated in an area with not many close neighbors.
One fireman, Ryan Kuklok, was injured in a fall, shattering his wrist and breaking a bone in the top of his hand.
If anyone has information concerning these fires or any other suspected arsons, they are asked to call the Arson Hot Line at 1 (800) 723-2020.
