Eileen Holtberg, Morrison County recorder, has announced that she will seek election for the position of county recorder.
Holtberg has been employed in the recorder’s office for 24 years, with 13 years experience as chief deputy recorder. On Jan. 1, 2013, she was appointed to complete the term of retiring recorder, Bunny Johnston. Prior to her employment with the county, she worked at a local bank for 14 years as a real estate loan officer.
Under her supervision, the office is responsible for recording, protecting and preserving the county’s real estate records, veterans’ discharges, uniform commercial code filings, birth, death and marriage records. The office is also an acceptance facility for the U.S. Department of State Passport Services.
Holtberg is a member of the Minnesota County Recorder’s Association, Property Records Industry Association and the National Association of County Recorders, Election Officials and Clerks. She is also on the District 5 Vitals Advisory Committee for the Minnesota Association of County Officers. She has been named Little Falls Chamber of Commerce Employee of the Month twice while working for the county.
Holtberg and her husband, Butch, have been residents of Morrison County for 39 years. They have two daughters and three grandchildren.
“I have always enjoyed my job. It has been my pleasure to work for the county for many years, and it would be a great honor to be able to continue serving the residents of Morrison County as county recorder,” she said.
