The Upsala Junior High Student of the Month for April is Alexis Krebs. She is the daughter of Marsha and Donald Krebs.
Krebs has achieved the A honor roll as a student this year and also participates in volleyball, Knowledge Bowl, band and has competed in the local geography bee. She is active in 4-H, serving as the 4-H club reporter, and past 4-H club vice-president. Krebs is an altar server at church, participates in JO volleyball and summer gymnastics and babysits for others.
Krebs’ favorite class is Art she said, because “…you can let your creativity run wild.” She feels that U.S. Studies is her most valuable class because, “Ms. Lewis really prepares you for your future.”
Teacher Roxann Lewis said, “I predict that Alexis has a very bright future ahead of her. I have been very impressed with her performance in seventh grade this year. She has already developed a work ethic far beyond her years, is eager to learn and strives to do her best each day, and has no problem lending a helping hand to a fellow student needing one without any prompting. It is so great to see young people challenging themselves and then attaining their goals. Fabulous Alexis, I’m proud of your efforts.”
In addition to school and her extracurricular activities, Krebs enjoys taking and editing pictures, shopping, volunteering, hanging out with friends, and deer hunting. Her future plans are to attend the University of Minnesota Duluth to obtain a Ph.D in meteorology.
Krebs offers this advice to her classmates, “The best thing you can do is focus on what you can control, and that is yourself.”
