James was born Nov. 4, 1947, in Little Falls, to the late Albert and Sophie Zimmerman. James had various jobs throughout his life. During his teen years, he made money ricing and trapping. When James was a young adult, he moved to Michigan, where he worked at Buick Motor Company and at a paper mill in Illinois. He was later employed for Lemetti and Sons doing sewer and water construction. He then began working at Crestliner Boat Works in Little Falls and he worked there for 23 years. Jim then went on to do some carpentry work, laying fiber optic cable and most recently was self-employed with his son and brother. He was united in marriage to JoAnn Balaski, April 10, 1970, in Little Falls. Jim had many hobbies when he was not working. Some of them include hunting, trapping, gardening, playing softball, bowling, doing yard work and four wheeling. He loved to be outdoors taking walks in the woods, going to his hunting land and trapping. His special day during the week was Wednesday nights, when he would go have chicken in Royalton then meet up with his friends downtown Little Falls. Jim also liked going to Bologna Days in Pierz, shaking dice, playing cards, trips to the casino, attending auctions, taking pictures, writing poems and especially spending time with family and friends. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
