Irmina Min C. (Poepping) Meyer

Irmina Min C. (Poepping) Meyer, 92- year-old resident of Pierz, passed away peacefully, May 26, 2014, at the Pierz Villa surrounded by her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pierz with Father Kenneth Popp officiating and Father Kenneth Brenny concelebrating. Visitation will be from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Thursday at the church. Burial will be at St. Josephs Parish Cemetery in Pierz.
Min was born April 9, 1922, to Herman and Mary Poepping in Lastrup. She attended a one room school house in Lastrup until they moved to Pierz where she attended one year of High School in Little Falls. Min married Harold Valentine Meyer, May 12, 1941, in St. Josephs Church. Min and Harold owned Meyers Meat and Groceries in Pierz until their sons took over. Min was a great bowler, enjoyed watching baseball games and loved camping and fishing. Min would always say you need to wear your crocheted hat and spit on the hook to get the big fish. She spent many days singing German songs with her friends in the group The Gesundheit Singers. Later in life she enjoyed playing Kings Corner and you better have a quarter to play and setting puzzles. She will be remembered for her flutch cake, sense of humor and camping in her backyard where she kept an eye on the nearby parking lot. She was always a ray of sunshine, with a smile for everyone and a laugh to go with it. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a great blessing to her. She loved each of them with all of her heart and they loved her too. Min was a long-time member of the Pierz American Legion Auxiliary.
Min will be missed by her brother, Adlore Poepping of California; children, Tom (Netti) Meyer of Pierz, Chuck (Judy) Meyer of Pierz and Mary (John) Grzeskowiak of Brooklyn Park; grandchildren, Suzie (John), Steve (Kelly), Jodi (Glenn), Patrick, Sarah (Whitey), Julie (Steve) and Angie (Mark); great- grandchildren; Nathan, Jordan, Logan, Nicholas, Jack, Sara, Hanna, Katie, Alex, Adam, Shelby, Tyler, Alexa and Jacob; along with her extended family from the Pierz Villa.
Min was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Mary (Happke) Poepping; siblings, Colette (Braun), Rod, Audrey (Millner), and her husband, Harold. Pallbearers will be Jodi Hennemann, Jack Hennemann, Julie Prom, Sarah Funk, Angie Holst and Hanna Meyer.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Pierz Villas Activity Fund.
